Erik is a champion in three countries:
Finland
,
Sweden
and
Canada
.

He arrived in Canada in
late June 2001 to take up residence at Avalonia. Bred in Finland by
Jarmo Vuorinen, Erik combines Avalonia breeding and top Finnish
bloodlines in an exciting red brindle and white particoloured dog.

Though owned by
Avalonia from birth, Erik stayed in Finland after winning several CACs from the puppy classes
in order to allow him to complete his Fin.Ch. when eligible to do
so, at age 2. During this time he delighted us with the CAC and
CACIB in his first show outside Finland , at the Stockholm Winners show in December 1999
in an entry of 75 over top international competition. Erik finished
his Fin.Swed.Ch. titles when he won the CAC at Turku on
March 4, 2001 under
Nenne Runsten (Airescot).

Erik make his Canadian
show debut three days after his arrival in Canada ,
shown by his breeder, and went WD for 3 points. Shown only 3 times
in 2001 he picked up BW and another 3 points in his third show.
After taking 2002 off (to go on a diet!) Erik returned to the
Canadian show ring in August 2003 and finished his Cdn.Ch. title at
the Thousand Islands shows going Winners Dog all three days and Best
of Breed under American judge Keke Kahn.

Erik has provided Avalonia with three litters.
His first, out of Windsong Justa Starr,
was born on 22 November 2001. His
son from that litter, Avalonia Bilbo Baggins sired Cdn.Ch.
Avalonia Barbados, whose two sons sired by Ch.
Nevedith Local Lancer – Cdn.Ch. Avalonia Edradour and Cdn.Ch.
Avalonia Glenlochy – are an important part of the Avalonia
breeding program going forward into the 21st century.

Erik’s second litter, born on 16 November
2005, out of Cdn.Ch. Avalonia Wispa Jesta
produced two very promising dogs who are now part of the Avalonia
breeding program. Avalonia
Moment in the Sun (Frankie) will be shown in 2007 along with her
brother Avalonia Across the Universe (Dan), who made his show debut
in 2006, earning points towards his title from the puppy classes.

Erik’s third litter, out of Eng.Cdn.Ch.
Nevedith Ceefa Ceely, was born on 31 March 2006.
We were stunned to have a 10-pup litter as we are used to
litters half that size, but all the pups thrived and are now found
in homes in Canada and the USA.
One – Avalonia Jesta Rogue who has his own new page –
remains with Avalonia and will be shown in 2007.
