Zohra was bred in Belgium by our good friend Bart Scheerens of Boxing Helena's kennels. Her tightly linebred Nevedith pedigree features many of the finest dogs bred by that kennel in the past 20 years -- dogs who have made their mark at Crufts, Skokloster and across Europe, as well as in North America and Australia.

 

En route to her International Champion at two years of age, Zohra won the Europa Sieger, and youth titles in both Belgium and Luxembourg. She was runner up top whippet bitch in Belgium in both 2000 and 2001, and won the winner title in Amsterdam in 2001. One of her breeder's proudest moments was her win for the whippet with the most beautiful head at the German Whippet Club specialty in 1999. Zohra's brother Sellman -- Int.Belg..Ned.and Germ.Ch. Boxing Helena's XLNT Man -- was #1 whippet in Belgium in 2001.

 

Zohra came to Canada in July 2002 and quickly earned her Canadian championship title, earning her first points shown in Canada by her breeder, Bart Scheerens, and finishing shown by our good friend Connie O’Brien.  In June 2003 Zohra was bred to Cdn.Ch. Nevedith Local Lancer and her litter of four – 3 girls and 1 boy, was born in mid-August.  Avalonia has retained one white and brindle parti-coloured daughter, Avalonia Glenlossie (Laura) who will begin her own show career in 2004.  Zohra returned home to Bart in Belgium in January 2004.  We greatly miss her company and her so sweet disposition, which she happily shared with all four of her four puppies.
