Key Attributes -  Avalonia Across the Universe (d.o.b. 16 November 2005)   Dan is a compelling mix of English and Finnish, Canadian and American bloodlines.  Dan’s sire, Fin.Swed.Cdn.Ch. Scheik’s Ardbeg Avalonia, was bred in Finland by Jarmo Vuorinen, out of Cdn.Fin.Nor.and World Ch. Avalonia Wheatfield Waving, who was bred in Canada by Avalonia out of English, Canadian and American bloodlines.  Dan’s dam, Cdn. Ch. Avalonia Wispa Jesta, though whelped in Canada, was conceived in England by a Nevedith dam by Eng.Ch. Nevedith Justa Jesta. Dan’s luscious colouring, which was shared by another male littermate, came down from his sire and grandsire.  He shares his sire’s wonderful temperament: silent (he has never once barked), sensible, affectionate, adoring – attributes we find many male whippet dogs enjoy. Dan stands 20.5 inches at the withers, which is about as tall as we like our males to be at Avalonia.  He began his show career in a couple of shows during the summer of 2006 in the junior puppy classes where he picked up several points towards his championship before the summer shows ended. Dan shares his sire’s deep affection for anything edible, which has meant we have had to put him on a diet to prepare him for showing in 2007.  Now mature, we anticipate this lovely dog will complete his Canadian title sometime during the summer of 2007 when we begin actively showing again.
