Key Attributes - Int.Fin.Nor.Swed.Dk.Ch.
 | Muffy represents a blend we at
Avalonia have come to know from our previous litters really works:
take one very good tightly linebred Nevedith bloodline found in dogs
such as Cdn.Ch. Nevedith Local Lancer and mix it with a well-bred
Sporting Fields Kinsman daughter/granddaughter. The result? Whole
litters of outstanding puppies such as Muffy. |
 | Already one of the top show
whippets in Finland, Muffy belongs to Jarmo Vuorinen (Scheiks), who
picked her out of a set of photos of her litter when she was 8 weeks
old. She moved to Finland in the late Fall of 1999 and made her show
debut in early 2000. |
 | Since then Muffy has truly made
her mark. Her wins have come in large entries under esteemed judges
from around the world: Morag Bolton-Lockhart and Pamela Marston-Pollock
of Great Britain, Denise Humphries and Glenda Cook both Australians
who awarded her CACs, Birgitta Svaarstad and Annika Ulltveit-Moe of
Sweden, George Kostopolous of Greece, Petter Fodstad of Norway,
Pirjo Jutila, Finland, Nenne Runsten of Sweden, a CACIB and BOS at
the Helsinki Int. Finnish Winner Show in December 2000 under Jose
Homem de Mello of Portugal, and, on 18 March 2001, her final CAC,
Fin.Ch., CACIB and BOB at the Tampere International Show under Terry
Thorn of England. Muffy ended 2000 as Top Junior Bitch in Finland in
2000, as well as number 3 bitch overall. |
 | In 2001 Muffy was shown on a
limited basis but her wins were equally impressive. She was Best
Bitch and BOS at the Finnish Sighthound Clubs Specialty in Tampere
in June under Danish judge Ms. Annette Burstrup, and BOB, BIG1, at
the National Show in Hameenlinna under Mrs. Gertie van Mudder
Gellicum of South Africa. She then went on to BIS-4 under Andrew
Brace of Great Britain. At the Nordic Winner Show in Tuusula,
Finland, Muffy was BOB and won the CACIB, under Mr. Rainer Vuorinen
of Finland, becoming Nordic Winner 01 in the process. Muffy also
Crufts qualified, one of only two Finnish whippets to do so in 2001,
and she finished the year as number 4 whippet bitch in Finland,
despite her limited showing. |
 | Now a fully mature 3-year-old,
2002 has been her most impressive show season to date. At the
international show in Lahti, Muffy was Best Bitch 1st, with CACIB
and BOS. In May 2002 she traveled to Norway and the Kristiansand
International Show where she was BOB, won the CAC and CACIB,
collected her Norwegian title and was also BIG-1 under Mrs.
Eli-Marie Klepp of Norway. |
 | On June 9th 2002 Muffy was BOB
at the Finnish Sighthound Club annual specialty at Hyvinkaa under
Mr. Magnus Hagstedt. A week later Muffy traveled to Malmo, Sweden
where on 15 June 2002 she was BOB with Swedish CAC and CACIB, under
Mrs. Liliane de Rigger-Onghena of Belgium, thus earning both her
International and Swedish titles. Later in the afternoon she was
placed Group 4 under Mr. Carlos Saevich. The next day, on June 16,
Muffy was exhibited in Copenhagen, Denmark where she was again BOB
with CAC and CACIB under Mr. Luis Pinto Teixeira from Portugal, and
later BIG-2 under Mrs. Zafra Sirik from Israel. |
 | Muffy is now the most awarded
Avalonia whippet ever. She is now Int. Fin.Nor.Swed.Dk.Ch. Finnish
Winner-00, Nordic Winner-01 Avalonia Glen Scotia. Avalonia owes a
considerable debt of gratitude to Muffy’s owner, Jarmo Vuorinen,
for believing so much in Muffy that he has taken her to the top of
her potential in such outstanding fashion. |
